Director:
George B. Cunningham (PhD, The Ohio State University) is the Director of the Laboratory for Diversity in Sport and an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Health and Kinesiology at Texas A&M University. His current research focus is on (a) examining the effects of work group heterogeneity on the performance of the group and affect of its members and (b) investigating the impact of dissimilarity from other group members on individuals' affective reactions and behaviors toward the group and organization. Author of over 90 journal articles and book chapters, Cunningham has published in such journals as Group Dynamics, Journal of Sport Management, Journal of Social Psychology, Journal of Applied Social Psychology, and Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport, among others. He is also author of the book entitled Diversity in Sport Organizations. He currently serves as Associate Editor for Sex Roles and as the Review Editor for Sport Management Review. Cunningham earned his B.S. (cum laude) from Midwestern State University and an M.S. from Texas A&M University.
